at Wagtail Retreat.
Designed to maximise the gorgeous views of the Malvern Hills, the lake and the vineyard, Wagtail Retreat offers three, luxurious, beautifully crafted Shepherd Huts. Each hut is larger than average, 10’ x 24’, and has been built using sustainable materials such as Welsh sheep’s wool for insulation and solid wood for both the indoor flooring and the outdoor deck areas. All huts sleep two people, have a king-size bed, stylish shower room, sofa and fitted kitchen area. There is also a log-burner as well as an outdoor bath and fire pit, so you have everything you need to relax and unwind. Whatever the weather, you can switch off, watch the wildlife and enjoy a glass of wine as you look out over the wonderful views across the vineyard and lake.
James and Chloe have designed each hut individually. Though all huts have the same levels of comfort and luxury, each one has a different look and feel inside, to maximise the views and orientation. Each property has been carefully built and planned by James so that the outdoor decking offers privacy, comfortable seating areas and plenty of space to look out over the beautiful surroundings.

In classic British Racing Green, Hedgehog has a stylish Miami chic interior. Located at the top of the property, you can lie in bed and gaze out over the top of the vines towards the Malvern Hills or sit at its breakfast bar catching-up on your laptop as you enjoy the world outside. In the evening, why not have an outdoor bath, looking out over our wildflower meadow towards the sunset.

Hedgehog
Always in the middle, our Gooseberry Shepherd Hut, in slate blue, has a botantical, scandi chic interior. The layout and finishes are luxurious and have been designed to maximise the light and the magnificent views across the lake and the Malvern Hills. What could be more perfect than sitting on its sheltered deck and watching the wildlife go by with your morning coffee?

Gooseberry
Clad in sustainably sourced larch, with a rustic, natural charm, Larch is located close to the lake and the vines. Its spacious, luxurious interior has a feature copper sink in the shower room and the main living area has unparalleled views of the Malvern Hills. An ideal spot to sit on the deck, watch the wildlife and enjoy a glass of wine whilst star gazing beside the fire pit.

Our offerings
To help you relax and unwind during your break, each Hut has a wraparound oak deck with a fully plumbed in, Victorian roll top bath with hot and cold water. Each bath is sheltered, ideal to sit back and relax and enjoy a glass of bubbles – it’s up to you whether you wear a bathing or birthday suit!
Outdoor Baths
With no light pollution, Wagtail Retreat is the perfect location to gaze at the stars. Each Hut has a wraparound, green oak deck with a BBQ/firepit and a bistro table and chair set - ideal for al fresco dining and a late evening supper. Each Hut also has two deckchairs so you can relax, watch the world go by and listen to the birds and countryside sounds.
BBQ / Fire Pit
We very much welcome dogs to Wagtail Retreat and each hut has a doggy-proof outdoor deck, to keep your pooch safe. We will provide dog beds, treats, bowl and dog towels for up to two dogs per Hut, to ensure your four-legged friends are as comfortable as you.
